Santa Clara, CA (March 9, 2015) – Kinoma®, an integrated team of designers and engineers within semiconductor company Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL), is bringing Kinoma Create to the SXSW 2015 trade show, Booth 201. Kinoma Create is the JavaScript-powered IoT construction kit and the theme of our presence at this year’s show is, “Start Making”.

Demos Galore
The Kinoma booth will be a demo-rich experience of JavaScript-powered hardware making, including demos of a mini robot on wheels, a giant labyrinth game, an ultrasonic rangefinder measuring system, and an Internet radio service controlled with near field communication (NFC). The Kinoma team will also demonstrate simple sensor, light and motor integration into Kinoma Create, illustrating just how easy it is to get projects up and running with the device.

The Kinoma team will also be at SXSW to demo Kinoma Studio, the integrated development environment (IDE) for KinomaJS that is ideal for scripting applications to run on Kinoma Create. It has a simulator to start coding even before work begins on the device. Wirelessly debugging KinomaJS apps with Kinoma Studio eliminates cables.

Now Open Source
The KinomaJS application framework is now open source. KinomaJS is uniquely designed to build the core applications of embedded devices using JavaScript. Now, anyone building projects with Kinoma Create has the option to read through the code to see what powers the KinomaJS apps they write. Developers can customize KinomaJS for their products.
